City Mode Leather is an experienced and dedicated men's and women's tailor and pattern maker specialising in leather. Owner Phillip Yalson has over 40 years of experience and has operated for over 18 years in the same location. Phillip studied as a tailor and pattern maker in Melbourne and learned to specialise in leather. He also had a thriving leather goods business there for many years with a loyal following.

Our retail shop in the heart of Crown St, Wollongong, stocks handcrafted men's and ladies' leather clothing, handbags, wallets & belts, gloves, and hats crafted in-house.

We pride ourselves on being reasonably priced and providing the highest quality workmanship. A locally owned and run family business, we have over 40 years of experience in the industry, and we pride ourselves on offering our customers high-quality products and outstanding service. I have been seeing Phil as a tailor for the last year or two.
I always take in my clothed for tailoring and 9/10, he will not charge me due to it being a very small job. I went in yesterday afternoon to get my work pants tailored as they were long. He measured me, then I waited at least 10 minutes for him to get the job done. He is such a nice man who is professional at all times with a smile on his face. I am grateful that I have found an excellent tailor who knows how to sew without damaging my garments. Would 100% recommend him.

I've been using Phillip's accomodating and friendly service since 2015. I have all my alterations done there. Nothing is too much trouble from jacket sleeves, to handbag repair with everything in between. Do not think he's just about leather (although excels in that department). I would never use anyone else.
